Jackson: “The team made an impressive effort”
Returning to the starting team, after almost a month and a half away,
Jackson Martínez celebrated the occasion with his 35th goal in the
season and his sixth in the current edition of the UEFA Champions
League, where he is the top scorer for the white and blues. The
Colombian striker, captain in the 3-1 victory over Bayern Munich,
believes the team “was able to take the opportunities created” and
reminded that “nothing is won”, considering the game in Munich “will be
even more demanding”.
“We knew it would be a complicated match, a
very physical duel. Bayern Munich has fantastic ball possession, but we
followed the strategy we set up and deserved to win. I tried to give my
best, as did my team mates, and the team made an impressive effort,
knowing when to suffer and then grabbing opportunities. Fortunately, I
was able to get better for this game and helped the team win, which was
the important part. Nothing is won, though, and the game in Munich will
be even more demanding. But we have players with quality to cause havoc
there”, Jackson Martínez stated, having not only scored the third goal
for the Dragons, but also being tackled for the penalty that gave the
first.
