Ronaldo sets UCL Record, intends to win Trophy for the Third Consecutive Time

FIFA Best Player for 2017 and Real Madrid front man, Cristiano Ronaldo scored the second goal yesterday against Borrusia Dortmund on Match day 6 at Santiago Bernabeu to take his tally for the year to 19 goals and also setting a record as the first player to score in all group stage matches in the Champions League.

The Portuguese star has been in tremendous form in the competition this season and has netted a total of nine in this opening phase, including at least one strike in every game Madrid have played.
Same cannot be said about Mandeira-born player, who is the favourite to claim a fifth Ballon d’Or on Thursday, in the La Liga where he has scored just two goals in 10 appearances in the Spanish league this season.

The former Sporting Lisbon and Manchester United player was last season’s top scorer with 12 goals as Real Madrid clichéd their second Champion League title in a row and he narrowly edged out long-time fierce rival Lionel Messi, who scored 11.
The 32 years old also hinted he wants to win a third successive Champions League title come May 2018

"Hopefully we can win the Champions League again," Ronaldo said.

"The important thing was to pass through the group stage.

"Our aim is to win the Champions League."

"I also scored; I helped the team to win with a beautiful goal. The record is also important, I'm really pleased."

"[The Champions League] is a competition that I really like to play in," he said. "Obviously, I also like to score in it."

Ronaldo added: "I'm very happy, we wanted to finish the group stage well with a victory.

Ronaldo’ team- Real Madrid finished second on the Group H table behind Maurico Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur, who were the only team they lost to at the group stage.
